Philadelphia, Norf Filthy what’s really hood? Word up, shouts to Philly and all of PA, I see y’all!
During the Canadian holidays while most Montrealers go shoe shopping in New York, Javier and I decided to venture 90 miles further and hit up the streets of Philadelphia. Coming from Montreal, not many choose to hit up Philly since New York is bigger and closer to us and Boston is not even an option… who would want to go to Boston anyways? I wanted to hit up Philadelphia so I could study the Philly handstyles. No question, we out here once again stomping new grounds, y’all can’t fuck with the approach. Instead of visiting trendy areas of Manhattan and Brooklyn like most of you filthy tourists do, Javier and I are drinking forties in the streets of North Philly. Word life, the potential in the streets of Philly should never be underestimated. In a city about the same size of Montreal, you can already imagine how mooked out these holy soils can be.
You can’t judge a book by the cover. Besides cheeze steaks, I did not know what to expect from Philly. Pretty much all the cheeze steaks we had in philly were garbage. Ironic tho, how the cheeze steaks are better in Montreal, but anyways, let’s not get it twisted, out of all the cities I’ve came across in the USA, Philly is probably my favourite one due to its griminess and culture. Also, comfort is everything, the tiny amount of cops in North Philly was also much appreciated since it allowed us to comfortably get lifted in public areas. Now, without a further ado, ima bless yall Mooks with some real Philly knowledge.

Yes Papa, we always on tha grind. It wasn’t too long before locating some train tracks, not even more than 30 minutes after arrival some shit got laced. Another classic international EF banger added to my collection.
The classic Philly handstyle, it don’t get any realler than this let me tell you. This shit is Straight Pimpin`.
I must say, I really like this production, i really like how the artists collaborated on this mural and put in so much details and efforts. These murals definitely give back what’s due to the community, especially with beautiful messages such as I Love you Mom.
Introducing the Wickeds. Its basically the Philly tag conducted with a wildstyle approach. It’s all about style. To the best of my knowledge, I read CAEM, I might be wrong, but I asume its him.
True indeed Philly is grimy as fuck, abandoned houses and buildings are to be found literally everywhere, making this city a real heaven for a true mook like myself. The ghost streets of North Philly really reminded me the Decarie Square mall in many different ways such as the outstanding numbers of immigrants roaming around and off course the various abandoned properties.
There were a few city signs indicating the prices for littering but not one garbage bin in all of North Philly. Yeah I said it, not one garbage bin, making this area of town very rich in street art which elegantly decorates these beautiful urban landscapes. Javier even taught that we were in Nicaragua for a hot minute.
This must be the most bootleg graveyard I’ve ever came across throughout all my glory days. Well it’s not even a graveyard, it’s probably someone’s backyard. So much murder in the streets of Philly, even the relatives get popped on the way to the funeral. I C-Murder like Master-P brother.
The expression Hugging the Block doesn’t get more appropriate than this. You grew up on the block, you hustled on the block, you died on the block and your grave is on the Block.
Literally, the streets of Philly aren’t safe for no rats. Snitchez get stichez, STOP SNITCHING!

Some Sleepin in Public going down on the strip. That`s all peace. That’s 100% Mook-Life. I would like to point out that the participant choose to sleep on the extreme end of the sidewalk in the sun instead of the other end against the wall under the shade.

If you think Somerled in DG is hood, you ain’t seen Philly’s Somerled. The whole hood on crack and heroin. Stepping over crack pipes, its real hard to take a piss without stepping on a needle.

In North Philly, unlike New York City, there are almost no cops. It’s fucking great ! The little amount of cops is often outnumbered by all the mooks in the hood so they mind their business and keep distance. Hell, it seems that even the police station hasn’t been renovated in a minute. Meh, the walls got more holes than swiss cheese.
Finally after our 3rd attempt at scoring trees in Philly we finally got some real weed. We didn’t hook up with any locals neither, therefore we had to go score trees in the grimy Philly streets. Now, I been a chain smoker for years. I been surrounded by large amount of trees and drug dealers my whole life, I haven’t dealt with this type situation for a really long time. So anyways, we tried to cop some trees from this guy who quickly disappeared after the transaction. Bullshit, straight up chunks of wood in some aluminum foil. About 30 minutes later, we chilled with another duke on the block who smoked us on a spliff. We taught that this cat was legit since he smoked us on a spliff. I mean, we didn’t even mention that our first attempt at scoring weed was a total failure and this motherfucker was still able to make us fall for another batch of trimmed wood. Those 2 motherfuckers must work together, it was in the same hood and we got the same garbage.
At the end of the day, it is what it is. You know, I respect the motherfuckin drought, you feel me? The struggle is real. These mooks are on the block risking their freedom. Unfortunately, the law is the law, whether it’s weed or not, the consequences remain severe. These mooks make moves and transactions in public areas live on the street. I got nuffin but love for anybody posted on the block. Shout outs to all my drug dealers worldwide!
Ain’t no better way to kill time than this. Good habits never go away. This is some every day shit for Killa-EF. It’s really hard for a Montrealer like me to understand that drinking in public is illegal, this can’t be life. I don’t give a shit, it’s always worth it. Even if sometimes a ticket is imposed, just think about the number of times you got away out, it’s always worth it.
Regardless of the 300$ fine warnings against smoking rigs in the subway, there was no hesitations on Javier’s behalf on lighting a good old cigarette in the Philadelphia subway.
To our surprise, we spotted an OG Mook sipping a beer and puffing a rig on the other side of the tracks. Damn this shit was mooked out, there seemed to be a big a party going down in the Philadelphia subway, all we was missing was a portable BBQ and then we would have been all set.
It ain’t no secret that fried chicken is as holy as a gift from god in the hood, so much that since chokings occur so frequently, first aid instructions are required in the restaurant. I’m sure my homeboy Loe Pesci would approve.

Anyways, I don’t remember much from that night in particular, I do drink a lot. Pictures do bring back memories, well I do remember one thing, those lights were sure fun to break on the floor.
Geting drunk in daytime definitely shuts your body down after a few meals and many hours of walk. I find my self Sleeping in Public. Well, I guess it’s like they say, at some point or another, you get to taste your own medicine.
Word life, in this world, action speaks louder than words. Indeed these huge Philly tags talk for themselves. Shout outs to KMD. Forget about fire extinguisher tags, what chyou know about ladder tags on the block? I don’t actually live in Newark, I just work there, and around Passaic and Paterson too. I live in the sticks. But Newark and Paterson both have fairly good scenes, it’s everywhere, and although it’s not like you guys have up in Montreal, it’s still very common. I don’t paint myself but really appreciate the art form.
And I don’t know if you guys are driving down or flying into Newark or whatever, but I-280 going into the city is full of some nice stuff. (NJ) 21 North leaving the city is literally destroyed, not a single blank space, definitely drive on that or somehow walk along it without being killed to see some fine shit that north jersey has to offer.
