It was New Year’s Eve when I arrived in one of Holland’s most modern cities: Rotterdam. Little did I know the streets had transformed into a war zone, where everyone was exploding Cobra bombs and lighting personal fireworks on every corner. It’s in this chaotic ambiance that I first met MJay and his boys, some …Read More

Aww shit. We back at the border, smelling like weed, rocking expired passports, secretly hoping that someone forgot a five-piece in their jean pocket “by accident”. You guessed it: we ’bout to hit the I-87 South for roughly seven hours until we reach our destination. We will stop at a miserable rest area where acne-ridden, over weight …Read More

It’s the land where potholes are the size of swimming pools and jaywalking is the first thing a child learns when he’s able to use his legs. It’s the city where toots smoking is a sport done in any weather; from the coldest winter nights to the most humid summer afternoons. It’s the streets where …Read More

Something happened in the ’90s. To think of it, a lot of things happened in the ’90s, but some affected us more then others. Wu-Tang is one of them. The internet is another. The digital era rendered analog obsolete and made it possible for everyone to be connected. Now we have touchscreen iPhones with 8mp …Read More

As days get shorter and the weather becomes colder, most of the population falls into depression with thoughts of a long winter ahead and are mentally preparing themselves for the seasonal hibernation. The mooks, on the other hand, are still out here doing what we do best: Get drunk or die trying. November was an …Read More

HTO: Whether it’s sketches, money, photos, documents, random souvenirs or drug paraphernalia, many mooks can relate to the sacred shoe box, stashed somewhere in a dark corner of their closet. I know I have a few. Most people who were writing before the digital era probably have a couple as well. My dude Ski Mask …Read More

I want to start by thanking everybody that came out last Saturday to the Party-Jam Gros Chilling with Action Bronson and the mooks. It was a memorable night, for many different reasons. The science is simple. You have LOOKOUT bringing that quality entertainment, Off The Hook Radio providing pyrotechnics, making sure people know what’s good for them and …Read More

Understand, the Philly style is a local craft that can only be learned in Philadelphia and if you did not grow up there, your bitch ass will never be able to apply that rich craft. The Philly style is more than just a stretched out tag with arrows, stars, peace signs, smiley faces and crowns, it’s a unique uniform font. Normal human beings see the Philly tags as nasty scribbles while the native Philadelphian writers see them as an outstanding masterpiece. It’s like they say, If it ain’t got that whip, it ain’t worth shit!

Philadelphia, Norf Filty what’s really hood? Word up, Shouts to Philly and all of PA, I see yall! No question, we out here, once again stomping new grounds, yall can’t fuck with the approach. Instead of visiting trendy areas of Manhattan and Brooklyn like most of you filthy tourists do, Javier and I are drinking fortees in the streets of North Philly. Word life, the potential streets of Philly should never be under estimated. In a city about the same size of Montreal, you can already imagine how mooked out these holly soils can be.

So after thirteen monthly recaps you are probably expecting the same old poetic jargon about how the weather is changing yet we are still on these streets, wilding out and being mooks. Well, not this time. After a year of uncut mookness, we would like to take this opportunity to thank every one out there. Every one who supported, …Read More

KES-ONE has been a heavy weight in the Australian Graffiti scene for many years, crushing toys and chugging beers, Big Kes got that Wildstyle discipline on lock! There’s a very big graff scene out in Australia and Ima let it be known. I know some mooks out there that don’t even know the difference in between Austria and Australia, well, hell, today Mook-Life came through with this interview to bless you toys with some wicked education. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you one of Australia’s finest Big Kes One. Yea I said it, Evil Wildstyles and nothing else!

You guys already know how I feel about street art. It ain’t hard to tell that HTO is not a big supporter of this movement. Don’t get me wrong either. I’m not walking around the Mile End all sour-faced because every corner is littered with this so called street art. It does not offend me. People having fun, doing art, posting shit on the street – I see nothing wrong with that. It’s just that it ain’t really street, my soul can’t relate and my heart does not feel it at all. To each his own.

We’ve assembled for you young artists’ creations that were sanctioned by the city or paid by businesses in order to give something back to the community and beautify Montreal’s neighborhoods. Like Hector Camacho in Style Wars says: ”Take it from the Champs, Graffiti is for Chumps!”. Here is an assortment of our favorite legal murals done by some of the most talented artists the graffiti scene has to offer.

The sun finally awakes from hibernation, lazily stretching its arms and touching every corner of the city. The snow slowly dissipates and seeps back into the Earth’s pores, finally giving a chance for the cracked pavement to take a gasp of fresh air. As our foot hits the block’s concrete for the first time in …Read More
