Meanwhile in Montreal: Winter Recap Video

Posted by Societys Disease on March 8, 2011 – 10:26 pm

While Killa-EF is taking in the Venezuelan sun and quenching his thirst with Solera cerveza, the coldest season of the year is in full effect on these Montreal streets. You can feel winter enveloping your goretex, looking for a weakness in your bubble goose in order to penetrate the thick layer of tissue and seeping slowly through to paralyze your skin. The warm smoke of your kush-filled blunt replaces the chill air in your lungs as the ice-cold beer in your hand is just a few minutes away from becoming a popsicle. Your skin is numb, your feet are wet and the streets are dead quiet in the midst of the 3AM night. The lamp posts resemble flickering Christmas lights through the snow blizzard that sweeps the city. Most of the population is hibernating: indoors and away from the mean grasp of winter, being spoonfed television reality shows and catching up on Charlie Sheen’s latest blurb. Meanwhile, the Mook is out here on these streets surviving the times to the fullest and living our own fucking reality show. We do it for the sight of that flat black paint hitting the silver fillin’ like butter. We do it for the sound of the Heineken bottle popping open and echoing out through the empty alleys. We do it for the spliff we spark in our warm couch after an entire night of running these cold blocks. You appreciate things much more after a struggle, the cold weather makes you tougher and out here we’re true Winter Warriors. Mook-Life is not something you do, it’s something you live 24/7, 365 days a year.

The only time we sleep is when we blink.

I believe God let down huge piles of snow just to make billboards easier to reach and to slow down cops cars when they’re called from other side of town
