As days get shorter and the weather becomes colder, most of the population falls into depression with thoughts of a long winter ahead and are mentally preparing themselves for the seasonal hibernation. The mooks, on the other hand, are still out here doing what we do best: Get drunk or die trying.
November was an emotional roller coaster ride packed with epic events and heartfelt tragedies. We kicked off the month with our first official Mook Life party starring Queens’ finest Action Bronson. Mooklympic sports were in full effect as the events of prosciutto tossing, firework shooting and street drinking became a natural Triathlon. While most were working on growing a mustache, we were out on these blocks working on redecorating your street corner with our fillins. From the greasiest of smoked-meat sandwiches to exclusive drinks, these well-nourished mooks kept our bellies full in order to act like degenerates till the break of dawn. Whether it was after-hours loft parties or Ghostface Killah putting on one of the illest shows of the year, we were definitely blessed with memorable nights. November was also the month which took away one of our city’s most-loved and respected souls. All of Montreal united to mourn the passing of local legend Matt ‘Dutch’ Garner. Rest in Power, we miss you homie.
Without any further ado, here is the past month through the eyes of your friendly neighborhood vagabonds. Fuck a Movember, this is Mookvember.
The last month of the year finally opens its doors to us. As we brush past November and head into the cold of December, it seems it was just yesterday that we were building this site from scratch. Time flies, but that’s only normal when you’re living fly times. The vision we once had is becoming closer to reality as we plunge head first into the next month and grin at the unexpected ahead. We do this for all those out there who live the same Mook Life across the globe but never had the voice to express it. From the ghettos of the Third World to the comfort of suburban homes, it’s not where you’re from it’s how you live. Let’s ride this month of December till the wheels fall off.
